Synopsis

Pennum Porattum (2026) is set in the fictional, quirky village of Pattada in Palakkad. The story kicks off when a minor private interaction is blown out of proportion by the village gossip mill. Charulata (Raina Radhakrishnan), a strong-willed young woman, suddenly finds herself at the center of a moral crusade by judgmental villagers after rejecting a local man's proposition. In a parallel and equally absurd plotline, a local pet dog named Suttu (voiced by Tovino Thomas) is wrongly accused of having rabies, triggering a frantic "hunt" by another mob. The film uses these twin "hunts"—one for a woman's character and one for an innocent animal—to expose the sadistic and herd-mentality nature of human behavior. Narrated partly from the perspective of animals, the movie is a riotous, high-energy satire inspired by the Porattu Nadakam folk art form.
