Synopsis

Frank Adler (Chris Evans) is a single man living in a coastal Florida town, raising his spirited young niece, Mary (Mckenna Grace). Frank’s only goal is to fulfill his sister's dying wish: to give Mary a "normal" life. However, when Mary enters the first grade, it becomes immediately clear that she is a mathematical prodigy, solving complex differential equations that baffle her teachers. Mary's intellectual prowess attracts the attention of Frank’s formidable mother, Evelyn (Lindsay Duncan), a wealthy Bostonian who believes Mary is a "one-in-a-billion" genius who should be groomed for greatness at all costs.
