Synopsis

Ronth (2025) is a gripping, atmospheric cop drama written and directed by the master of the genre, Shahi Kabir (scriptwriter of Nayattu and Joseph). The film unfolds over the course of a single, tense night in the life of two police officers on patrol duty. The narrative follows the ideological clash between Sub-Inspector Yohannan (Dileesh Pothan), a jaded, world-weary veteran who knows how to navigate the system's "grey" areas, and Dinanath (Roshan Mathew), a hot-tempered but idealistic rookie cop haunted by his own trauma. As they attend to a series of calls—from domestic disputes and a tragic suicide to an elopement—the night reveals the raw, unpolished reality of human nature and the heavy mental toll of being an "officer on duty."
