Synopsis

Sita Ramam (2022) is a poetic tale of "love beyond borders" that has redefined the romantic genre in Indian cinema. Set in 1964, the story follows Lieutenant Ram (Dulquer Salmaan), an orphaned army officer serving at the Kashmir border. After he delivers a courageous radio message, he begins receiving anonymous letters from across the country from people claiming to be his family. Among them is a mysterious girl named Sita Mahalakshmi (Mrunal Thakur), who claims to be his wife. Intrigued, Ram sets out on a journey to find her, leading to a legendary love story that is eventually cut short by the fires of war. As she uncovers the truth about their relationship, she realizes that this isn't just a love story—it's a journey of sacrifice, humanity, and national pride.
