Synopsis

In the barren village of Mahua, the scent of rain has become a distant memory. For fifteen years, the skies have remained clear, leaving the farmers in a crushing cycle of debt and despair. Hedu (Sanjay Mishra), an elderly and blind farmer, lives in constant, paralyzing fear that his son Mukund (Bhupesh Singh) will become the next headline in the village's long history of farmer suicides. Enter Gunu Babu (Ranvir Shorey), a ruthless loan recovery agent known to the villagers as "Yamdoot" (The God of Death), because his arrival usually coincides with a tragedy. However, Gunu is a victim of nature himself; his family in Odisha is losing everything to rising sea levels and frequent cyclones. In a desperate bid for survival, the blind father and the "death god" form an unholy and secret alliance. Hedu begins to spy on his own fellow villagers to help Gunu recover money, hoping that in exchange, Gunu will spare his son's life.
