📖 Synopsis

Munjya (2024) is the latest terrifyingly funny addition to the Maddock Supernatural Universe (the same world as Stree and Bhediya). Rooted in Indian folklore and Konkan mythology, the film centers on the legend of a "Munjya"—the restless spirit of a young Brahmin boy who died shortly after his thread ceremony with unfulfilled obsessive desires. The story follows Bittu (Abhay Verma), a timid young man who returns to his ancestral village only to accidentally release the vengeful spirit of Munjya. The spirit, who has been trapped for decades, is obsessed with finding his long-lost love, Munni. Munjya hitches a ride on Bittu's back (literally) and creates chaotic havoc in his life, demanding that Bittu help him marry a woman who turns out to be his friend Bela’s (Sharvari) grandmother!
